LMC is looking for an entry-level Staff Accountant to join our team. This position requires work in our Wayne, PA office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compiles, tracks and enters invoices received from vendors, verifying information and posting details to the general ledger.
  • Audits employee expense reports by verifying authorization and compliance with company travel and entertainment policy; posts details to the accounts payable system.
  • Initiates check runs of employee expense reimbursement.
  • Assists with preparation of the monthly financial statements, forecasts, and incentive reports as well as the preparation of related supporting documents.
  • Monitors electronic banking reports/wire transfers through banks daily to track the company’s cash position.
  • Assists with preparation of tax payments, 1099 forms and census reports.
  • Paying invoices related to corporate spend and applying accurate GL coding for posting.
  • Responsible for all month-end reconciliations for the corporate cash account and the corporate payables. Also includes assisting in daily cash reconciliations and month end corporate bank recon.
  • Assist with various reconciliations including fixed assets and multiple Lumbertrack accounts (Freight Payables/Transfer Clearing). Will be responsible for investigating and resolving reconciliation issues.
  • Assist with building the LMC Plan. Verifying expenses are properly captured within Dynamic Budgets under the correct general ledger accounts.
  • Verifies and follows through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of check/wire payments.
  • Assist with journal entries, the month end close and forecasting.
  • Maintains multi-state Sales & Tax certificates & exemptions information.
  • Prepares and distributes vendor credit applications as needed.
  • Maintains billings to vendors and dealers for show booths and other related show billing activity.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years or more of related work experience preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically, strong Microsoft excel skills.
  • Proficient with learning and adapting to new technology.
  • Experience with fact and profit-based decision making.
  • Excellent accounting and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple complex projects with basic instruction.
  • Assignments require the interpretation of multiple factors in which several solutions are presented.
  • Ability to act independently applying discretion, judgment, and tact in a highly sensitive environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service focus and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills including working accurately with numbers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the automated systems used by LMC and customer/dealers.
  • Ability to learn and retain considerable knowledge of the company's policies and operations.
  • Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
